Imperfect World

There is one thing almost every one of the clients have in common- stress. It feels inevitable that our only choice in life is to be strung out, pulled down and hung out to dry. Like watching people jump out of a burning building we are all simply hoping to make it out alive, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s not going to happen. We really just have a short time here. A time, in which we need to find a way to laugh often, take care of our bodies, and love thy neighbor. Instead I fear we are focusing on cheap entertainment, altering are bodies, and being better then thy neighbor.

However I must admit I find focusing on only the simple and positive things in life is much easier said than done. My life has been very consistent in proving that no matter how much I try to plan, it doesn’t really matter, life happens regardless. You will never be able to assume who in time you will be, what you will grow to love, grow to hate and grow to believe. Yet daily I feel the stress build up during my attempt to over plan, over calculate and over perfect an increasingly imperfect world. I believe it takes true mental discipline to get over that, something I am still working on. In the mean time I like to focus on something I was once told. Depression by definition is regret or concern for things that have already occurred. Anxiety by definition is fear or worry for things that have yet to occur. Therefore the only true peace of mind has to come from living in the present: Stress free, content, and happy.
